Unless. She looks back at him again. He seems fond of the idea. She doesn't hate it. They're in love, and they've almost lost one another too many times. Being wed wouldn't protect them from that in the future, and might in fact make the pain worse, but the fondness in his voice is encouraging.
There are worse things they could do. Criminal activities and murder and the like. This would be a selfish act, but she knows they're going to dedicate the rest of their lives to Whitestone. They should be selfish.
