He smiles back, comforted and wanting to offer comfort in equal measure. That's the Vex he has endless faith in, the Vex who'll come out of this stronger and ultimately happier. Things have changed, but he has to believe it won't be for the worse. Maybe in the moment, but not forever.

"I'd like to think I do," he answers, leaning in so he can kiss the corner of her mouth. "And while I know it's not the same, I miss Vax, too. Everyone, really - I can't believe it's starting to feel too quiet around here."
